Jebsal leverer ofte Tardive, jævnligt også Grain Noble -og i særligt udsøgte år også en mikroskopisk mængde "Trie", en af Verdens mest udsøgte ædelsøde vine....
Domænets bedste søde vin kommer ofte fra det mikroskopiske Clos Jebsal, en lille knold af gips (som navnet antyder) i Grand Cru Brand's granit. Ialt 1,3 hektar (100% Pinot Gris) på meget stejl skråning vendt stik syd.Alk: under 6%. Restsødme pænt over 400 g/l (!), 234% Oechslé (potentielt 35% alk!). Udbytte sølle 8 hl/ha! Modenhed: 2015-"God knows when.,.."

Olivier om vinen: It might be difficult to believe, but usually in Alsace great vineyards develop noble rot quite late, and the first grapes that catch the botrytis are the ripest ones. This "Trie Spéciale" was the first selection we did on the Clos Jebsal vineyard in 2007 and therefore by far the richest. When a SGN is harvested above 30% potential alcohol (or 200°Oechslés) we call it Trie Spéciale, because the style of wines changes completely. The level of sugar is so high that yeasts cannot survive too long and fermentations can last for years even if the finished alcohol is extremely low (under 6%). These wines are bottled only three to four years after the harvest, because it takes a long time for those wines to clarify. It is only possible to make these wines when the quality of the botrytis is at its best and when the initial yield is very small. Of course, such richness makes only sense in good vineyards, capable to give a serious structure and complexity to the wines. Does it make sense to produce such wines? Certainly not! They are ageless, will keep forever, and whoever will taste them one day will also taste a part of history.2/2009: the fermentation stopped just before Christmas 2008, so actually quite quick! The wine is now racked and will be bottled only in a few years. This wine already exhibit wonderful honey, waxy flavours. The palate has a racy structure, bracing acidity and of course is very sweet. This wine still needs more elevage, but already shows amazing character".

Exhibits the combination of near-gelatinous viscosity and seeming weightlessness that typifies an Esszencia. Glazed apricot, cinnamon, and aromatic woods inform a positively volatile nose, while smoky, meaty, spicy Pinot Gris-typical character emerges in the long finish. This has the makings of 40 or more years of fascination although it is more episodic and for now at least less dazzlingly multi-faceted and dynamic than the corresponding Clos Windsbuhl.

An SGN with a lot of colorùdeep amberùand a multitude of flavor, delivering layers of ripe yellow peach, mango, crystallized honey and candied citrus peel, with hints of vanilla, iodine, espresso and bourbon. Rich and round, with a melt-in-your-mouth texture, but superbly balanced by intense, mouthwatering acidity. The extremely long finish shows a briny mineral note that's a fine counterpoint to the wine's ripe, honeyed fruit character. Drink now through 2040. 95 cases made. ûAN
