  • 2012 Hewitson "Old Garden", Mourvèdre planted 1853, Barossa Valley

Medium garnet colored with a slight purple hue, the 2012 Mourvedre Old Garden has lovely nose of kirsch, stewed plums and blackberry pie with nuances of fertile loam, dried Provence herbs and black pepper. Medium-bodied and quite elegant on the palate, it offers just enough earthy, black and red fruit flavors with approachable tannins and plenty of freshness to lift the long yet subtle finish. 2015-22 -Lisa Perrotti-Brown.

Luscious release. Brimful og dark, leathery, berried fruit, loaded with fennel and spice, both characterful and persistent. Tannin has a mineral edge, a sophistication. Orange-peel notes dance about. The bold and the beautiful in one. Super. To 2030.
